Privacy, briefly
Interrobang is a hobby project, and we collect as little as possible: no accounts, no ads, no cookies and no tracking across websites. Here is exactly what happens to your data.

Who is responsible
Interrobang is made and run by Thomas Ankjær Kulmbach in Denmark as a private hobby project. If you have questions about your data, or want to see or delete it, email [email protected].
When you play
You don’t need an account. You enter a name (it doesn’t have to be your real one) and pick a character.
The game stores your name and character, what you write (prompts, answers, lies and sentences), your votes, guesses and emoji reactions, and when your phone last checked in, so the big screen can show 📵 if it drops out. Everyone in the same game sees the names, and the answers as they are revealed.
Games, including the results used for Tonight’s awards, are deleted automatically 30 days after they were created. A game can only be opened with its code for 12 hours.
Share images at the end of a game are drawn on your own phone. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share the image yourself.
Statistics
We count visits and games to see what works. We store counts only: page views, country, which website you came from (the domain only), phone or computer, and how games went.
To count each visitor once per day, your IP address and browser are combined into a scrambled code using a random key that changes every day. Neither your IP address nor the code is kept after that day.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Stored in your browser
Your browser’s local storage remembers your player code for the current game (so you can reconnect), your language and your sound and music settings. It stays on your device; only the player code is sent to our server to recognise you in the game. We don’t use cookies.
Feedback
If you give feedback at the end of a game, we store the thumbs up or down, your text, the game and the language, but not your name. We keep it until you ask us to delete it. Because it is anonymous, tell us roughly when and what you wrote.
Abuse and errors
To stop abuse, such as someone creating thousands of games, we count requests per IP address for a short time. The IP address is stored only as a scrambled code and deleted when the time window ends.
If the server hits an unexpected error, we keep a technical error message for 7 days. It contains no personal data.
Who else handles data
Gigahost (Denmark) hosts the website and the database. Like all web hosts, it keeps standard server logs with IP addresses for a limited time, according to Gigahost’s own policy.
Cloudflare (USA) delivers the website, protects it against attacks, tells us which country a visit comes from, and provides Web Analytics. Cloudflare handles IP addresses on their way through and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
The links to Discord and Buy Me a Coffee only take you there when you click them; their own privacy policies apply on their sites. We only count the click. Fonts are served from our own server.
Children
The games are family friendly, but children under 13 should play together with an adult. We don’t collect anything about children beyond what any player types into a game.
Your rights
We process this data because it is needed to run the games and, for the statistics, because we have a legitimate interest in seeing how the site is used.
You have the right to see the data we have about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet.
